For Christmas, offer a school to a child in need !

Breaking news

Dear friends,

"Qadisha, Qadisha..." On Christmas Eve, in the crowded church of Sarcelles, Aramaic songs resound from the thousands of Chaldeans who have taken refuge in this gloomy Parisian suburb. Their prayers go straight to their brothers in Iraq, to those who are still living in fear and hunger there.

"Nothing is settled in Iraq," saddened Yalda as she left mass. We are so lucky to be here that our thoughts go straight to our children back home.

"The children who stayed behind"... It is towards them that Mission Enfance's educational aid is directed, towards those who, whatever the cost, often because they have no choice, remain on the wounded lands of Iraq, Afghanistan, Burkina Faso...

Kurds, Yezidis, Chaldeans, Afghans, Syrians, Burkinabè, all bear as much the Eastern and African origins of our world as the stigmata of conflicts that drag on... We educate them, without ethnic or religious distinction, because they form an ancestral culture of which we are the heirs. We educate them because they are human beings.

In Qaraqosh, in the Iraqi Nineveh Plain, our support enables Yezidi and Chaldean female students to attend university in Mosul, in a protected area....

In Youzifan, in the Yezidi desert of Iraq, we have just built a sixth school to encourage displaced people to return. So that they can leave the camps in Iraqi Kurdistan and heal their trauma.

In Don-e-Rewat, in Afghanistan's Panjshir Valley, to accommodate the influx of students, we are transforming our school into a high school, allowing dozens more girls to complete their bachelor's degrees and go on to university.

In Burkina Faso, the children of the village of Barga Peulh will receive a school for Christmas ! In spite of the obscurantist threat hanging over this poor country, our local teams do not let go of their humanitarian mission and encourage their people to stay in their villages.

Each year, more than 50.000 children born in conflict, in hatred and violence, in sadness and despair, benefit, thanks to the action of Mission Enfance, from solid educational bases. They know there's a real life beyond tears and blood.

Dear friend, give back its true meaning to this coming Christmas. With your generosity, give these children a school !

I wish you a very merry Christmas and send you my best wishes.
