SUPPORT FOR HYGIENE AND EDUCATION BY BUILDING AND FITTING OUT SCHOOLS - COMPUTER TRAINING
Context
We have been working in Laos since 2005, where we have built 34 remote schools and high schools in Champasak Province in the south of the country. We provide education for 5,383 isolated children on the Boloven Plateau in decent and dignified conditions.
The level of education in this country is very low and the physical conditions of the schools are disastrous (dilapidated wooden buildings, lack of teaching materials, etc.) and there are few trained teachers. Each school built by Mission Enfance receives prior approval from the Champassak Province Education Department. 230 schools still need to be built or renovated on the Bolaven Plateau.
Goal
In 2025, we will build two primary schools and add two computer rooms to two secondary schools on the Boloven Plateau in the south of the country. In Laos, hygiene is a fundamental problem that Mission Enfance is trying to address by providing training during the distribution of hygiene kits in schools. We also distribute school kits in each of the schools we build, as well as sports equipment. We offer a support bonus to non-tenured teachers who do not receive any salary from the government.
