We've been working in Laos since 2005, when we built 30 remote schools and high schools in Champasak Province, in the south of the country. As a result, 5,000 children living in remote areas of the Boloven Plateau now receive a decent education.

The level of education in this country is very low, and the material conditions of the schools are disastrous (dilapidated buildings, lack of teaching materials, etc.), with few trained teachers. Each school built by Mission Enfance receives prior approval from the Champassak Province Education Department. 240 schools still need to be built or renovated on the Boloven Plateau.

Goal

In 2024, we will be building two elementary school and adding two computer rooms to our Done Talath high school on the Boloven Plateau in the south of the country. In Laos, hygiene is a fundamental problem which Mission Enfance tries to address through training when distributing hygiene kits to schools. We also distribute school kits in each of the schools we build, as well as sports equipment.

Below, Inauguration of the 3 schools built by Mission Enfance in 2022 for the children of Laos who also received their school kit and their hygiene kit to continue their education in decent conditions. Special thanks to our partners, Fondation 21 and Fondation Gabrielle, and congratulations to Bounleua Kiatikhema, our local coordinator:
