EMERGENCY AID FOR VICTIMS OF KARABAKH - SUPPORT FOR EDUCATION OF ARMENIAN YOUTH
Context
Mission Enfance has been working in Armenia for 34 years.
In order to stabilise the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh since their arrival in Gyumri in September 2023, we are running a programme to provide resources for entrepreneurial projects presented by displaced families. In 2024/2025, after field studies of the families' proposals, we financed 50 projects, which were regularly monitored during our missions and supported by our local representatives.
Goal
PROVIDE TRAINING FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AND SUPPORT EDUCATION FOR THE MOST DISADVANTAGED
ALLEVIATE POVERTY OF KARABKH'S VICTIMS THOUGH EMERGENCY AID
Thanks to these contributions of livestock, welding equipment, computer equipment, kitchen equipment, hairdressing equipment, etc., most families have been lifted out of poverty and dependence on humanitarian aid. We will continue this project in 2026.
We also focus on school sponsorship to support the education of the most disadvantaged children in the city of Gyumri, 80% of which was destroyed by an earthquake in 1988. For many years, school sponsorship by Mission Enfance donors has also enabled many young people to attend school in decent conditions and, for a growing number of them, to go on to university. In addition, school sponsorship enables displaced persons from Karabakh to continue their education and settle in Armenia.
