EMERGENCY AID FOR VICTIMS OF KARABAKH - SUPPORT FOR EDUCATION OF ARMENIAN YOUTH
Context
Mission Enfance has been working in Armenia for 33 years.
In order to stabilise the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh since their arrival in Gyumri in September 2023, we have been running a programme to provide resources for entrepreneurial projects presented by displaced families. In 2024, after studying the families' proposals in the field, we financed 30 projects that are regularly monitored during our missions and supported by our local representatives. Thanks to these contributions of livestock, welding equipment, computer equipment, cooking and hairdressing equipment, etc., most of the families have been lifted out of poverty and dependence on humanitarian aid.
Goal
PROVIDE TRAINING FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AND SUPPORT EDUCATION FOR THE MOST DISADVANTAGED
ALLEVIATE POVERTY OF KARABKH'S VICTIMS THOUGH EMERGENCY AID
Thanks to these contributions of livestock, welding equipment and computer, cooking and hairdressing equipment, most of the families have been lifted out of poverty and dependence on humanitarian aid. We will be continuing this project in 2025. We will be participating in the solar installation of the future vocational training centre currently under construction at the Endanik centre, with which we have been working for 32 years.
We also focus on school sponsorship to support the education of the most disadvantaged children in the town of Gyumri, 80% of which was destroyed by an earthquake in 1988. For many years, the school sponsorship provided by Mission Enfance donors has also enabled many young people to attend school in decent conditions and, for a growing number of them, to go on to university.
